Rhiannon Llewellyn

I recently had a conversation with some of my yoga students about how different today’s world is for 20-somethings. While learning how to overcome struggle with grace is an important lesson for anyone to learn, Millenials can especially benefit. In the past, career paths were much more linear, and although finances may never be “solid” for anyone at anytime of his or her life depending on how you manage money, certainly the volatility of the world economy has not always been such as it has been in the past five years or so. Whereas in the past it was common for someone to be married with a family already started come 30, today’s 30-year-olds are still trying to figure out what to do with their lives, let alone bother with the responsibility of raising another human being. At least, that’s the experience for a subset of the young Millenial population. The state of the world has made such inner explorations, career changes, and information mongering possible, what with the whole Internet thing. It’s easier today than it ever has been to find the flexibility you want in your life by starting your own business. Even so, that hasn’t made running a successful business any easier, and often new business owners conveniently forget that you’ll almost always work harder running your own business than you ever would working for someone else. Today’s podcast interview with Rhiannon Llewellyn is a good one. Her own journey led to a self-sustaining career born out of necessity when the economy took a turn for the worse and she had her own family to support. Luckily, she has always kept her family at the forefront of what she does and why she does it. What I love most about our conversation is Rhiannon’s infectious and unfaltering positivity, even when times weren’t the best of times.
