I want to explain to you a little bit about why I wrote this book and what it’s about, but if you just want to read the book you can go ahead and download it now at the link below.

Teaching yoga is a big love of mine, but I find that many students eager to try yoga are afraid to try in the first place! Going someplace to do something totally different in a room full of strangers provides way to many roadblocks to get stuck.

Maybe you’ve always wondered about yoga but just haven’t gotten into it because there isn’t a good studio or teacher around town.

  • Or maybe you don’t want to work out at the end of a long day.
  • Or maybe you’re afraid that you’ll look stupid because you won’t know what you’re doing.
  • Or maybe you’re afraid you’ll get hurt.
  • Or maybe there aren’t any good class times, you don’t understand the class schedule, you don’t really know what you’re getting yourself into and the only time you could make it is right during dinner.

Point is, there are a million excuses to keep you away from the yoga mat (maybe you don’t even have one!), no matter how bad you really want to try. I get that. I still use those same excuses to this day.

So I wanted to write a book that would help ease newbies into the practice of yoga.

Why Would You Want An Unconventional Guide?

I called this The Unconventional Beginner’s Guide to Yoga because there are a lot of yoga guides for beginners and most of them say the exact same thing. They teach you a little bit about the poses and send you on your way. They give you the very basics and foundation of the postures and figure that’s enough to get you going. For some people it is.

But I think the other beginner’s guides are cheating you out of some much more important information that is integral to the “foundations” of yoga and practical at the same time. I included all that stuff in my book and it’s still only 30 pages. I think you can handle the bigger, larger, philosophical stuff that makes you think. I think you can handle an intro to meditation because although meditation is not a yoga pose, it’s an important part of yoga as a whole and shouldn’t be reserved for the intermediate/advanced practitioners. I think you can handle the spiritual components because yoga is a spiritual practice for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. I’m not afraid to say it and you shouldn’t be afraid to try it! And finally, I know that as a beginner I had a lot of questions about what I needed, what kind of style I might want to practice and what I needed to know about studio etiquette. So I answered those questions for you too.

The Unconventional Beginner’s Guide to Yoga introduces you to yoga through a new set of eyes. A set of eyes that values the practice for all it offers, from the physical poses to the meditation to the spirituality. A set of eyes intent on incorporating yoga into her everyday life. A set of eyes eager to make a greater impact in this world by helping you feel better, however that may happen for you. A set of eyes excited by change and transformation, growth and experimentation. A set of eyes rapt with creativity and a sense of humor.

What If You’re Not a Beginner?

Well, then you’re not really a yogi. Just kidding (kind of). The best yoginis approach life as a beginner every single day. I read books over and over again, just like you might read the Bible or one of your favorite quotes over and over again. Each time, you gain something new. Same is true with this book. Even if you’ve practiced for years, you might learn something new about yourself and your practice when you read my take on yoga and how I see it working for me.

Plus, I’d love to hear from you if you’re a seasoned practitioner. Did I cover the bases? What else would you add? Feedback is encouraged and appreciated. And finally, once you read my book, maybe it can serve the foundation for you writing your own book about your own ideas on yoga. We’re all unique. Everyone’s thoughts and ideas count. If I hadn’t seen my friend write a book, I wouldn’t have been able to birth this into the world.

You Still Not Convinced?

The Unconventional Beginner’s Guide to Yoga is unconventional in that I assume you’re a bit unconventional yourself. You like to do things your way. You like to have options. You like freedom and flexibility but at the same time you’re not overwhelmed by rules, systems, and organization. You’re curious. You want to feel better than you do right now, even if you already feel fine. You’re an adventurer and an explorer and a creator and a doer. You love to learn new stuff and you love to learn about your Self.

Remember, this is just the beginning. And it’s FREE!

If you don’t read it, I’ll never know.

If you don’t do anything with the information, I’ll be sad, but still, I’ll never know.

If you do try the poses included, you’ll have the freedom to try them in your bedroom with the door closed and the light’s turned off.

There aren’t many excuses as to why you can’t click the link below and download the book. It’s easy, it’s fun, it’s funny (I hope), it’s informative, it’s thought-provoking and it’s a start.
