Yesterday I had a breakdown. As my upcoming move approaches, the transition to fall officially commences and the rest of the pieces of my life continue to move forward at warp speed, I could no longer pretend the feeling of living without solid ground under my feet was okay.
The changing seasons are a funny time, full of changing plans, general busyness and plenty of stress. By its very nature, autumn is a time when the wind may start to pick up and blow us off course. It’s at these times when we’re most likely to feel unbalanced and catch cold.
Operating with your feet cut off from your roots will drive you crazy – that’s why this week’s meditation practice is perfect for reconnecting to the Earth, calming down and bringing your mind down from the clouds.
In this meditation for changing seasons, I offer up a little more instruction – with suggestions on how to sit, where to put your hands and whether or not to open or close your eyes.
Spend 10 minutes today sitting quietly and give your active mind a rest and your body the opportunity to feel what it’s like to be connected again. It’s just the cure for a breakdown 🙂
Happy Autumn!
