This is a blog about life. The ups and the downs, but especially the downs and particularly how to get back up.
This blog is about helping you define your passions and identify the steps you need to take to make your dreams reality. It’s about overcoming obstacles that keep you from believing in yourself, being comfortable with risk and succeeding beyond your wildest imagination. It’s about living life on your own terms and kindly dismissing everyone who tells you it can’t be done.
This blog is about finding joy and ease in your life in the midst of the most difficult situations. The “situations” are major life changes, difficult transitions, setbacks, heartbreaks, stress-inducing episodes. During these changes we come up against fear, doubt, greed, jealousy and, if we really look hard enough, the cold, hard Truth.
This blog is about working through life’s challenges with specific techniques that have worked for me and millions of other people for over 2,000 years. It’s about saving money, finding happiness, releasing stress, connecting with others, and working toward your fullest potential. It’s about health and fitness, weight loss and meditation, passion and dreams, happiness and love, but most importantly real life.
Anyone who has lived past elementary school knows that life throws down sometimes. Everyone always told me life wasn’t fair, but I never wanted to believe it.
For me, that fairness is distributed by a capitalistic society. An unseen collective sets the rules and decides how things should be and what constitutes normal. I like to think of society as the Wizard of Oz, hiding behind some big green cloak barking out the rules with little rhyme and not a whole lot of reason.
Society doesn’t work for me.
In the past three years, I’ve graduated from college with two degrees at the height of the greatest recession since the Great Depression. I’ve struggled to survive financially, and I was one of the lucky ones with a job. Then, I quit my job and threw away society’s fragile little security blanket. I started my own company. I moved away from everything I know for love. But most importantly, I got honest with myself.
Life is a series of experiments. When you’re open to the learning that arises from failure, when you put yourself out there to fail in the first place, you put yourself on the fast track to happiness and joy.
I was a social media maven. A marketer with a penchant for writing. A PR princess. Everything I was supposed to be. And I hated it.
What I really am is a learner, writer and a teacher. And I’m in the business of healthcare.
For me, the Truth = medicine.
Wouldn’t it be incredible if we could heal ourselves? If we could unleash our dependency on drugs, throw out the garbage that makes us sick, and create lives for ourselves full of joy, happiness, fulfilling work AND ease?
For some reason, society thinks that’s cuckoo for cocoa puffs (organic, of course). Society says we have to work from 9-5, have a boss who tells us what to do, work overtime and never have quite enough of what we need (it’s not always money). We have to go to an office, live in a big city, sip fancy wines and drive fancy cars. Only then will we be successful. We have to own the latest fashions and play all the right games.
I CALL BULLSHIT.
Society is making us sick. Can someone please call the doctor? But not the one that will prescribe us painkillers after a 5-minute appointment. Those guys belong to society.
It is possible to heal ourselves and, in my opinion, it starts with awareness. When we become aware of what makes us thrive, we hand ourselves the keys to unlocking the juiciest, happiest life we can possibly live. Yoga has changed my life, and the lives of countless others. I want to help you change yours.
What’s with all this yoga business?
I don’t mind if you never strike a pose in your entire life. And please, spare me the standard “I’m not flexible.” I think I can offer you something beyond the physical practice of yoga, beyond the pretzel twists and acrobatics, beyond the hippy dippy language. I think I can help you, but you have to want it in the first place.
I also think you can do a pretzel twist, if you really believe in yourself and work toward it. But that’s up to you.
Yoga is not a cult – let’s just get that out of the way because your parents might ask. It’s also not a religion because you can worship anyone you want or no one at all and still practice yoga.
Yoga is a prescription for happiness. Can I have some of that?
You don’t have to believe a single word I say. All I ask is that you try it out for yourself.
Who hangs out here?
We are girlfriends, fiancées, moms, wives and partners, multi-taskers, workers and cleaners. We dream of living a life we love, every second of the day and we are committed to doing what we have to do to make that happen. We do a lot, and we deserve some me-time every now and then. We owe it to ourselves and our families to be healthy, happy human beings.

This community will support you on your quest for a life defined by YOU and YOUR dreams
What are we going to do?
Well, you might do some yoga. You’ll read. You’ll watch some video. You’ll breathe. You’ll sit. You’ll lie down. You might stand up. You’ll stretch. And you’ll probably write a little. You’ll feel good.
It’s not easy being a mover and a shaker. It’s filled with obstacles and roadblocks. Frustration and rejection. Doubt and a WHOLE LOTTA FEAR.
If you’re not having what society has dealt you and you’re ready for something new, I challenge you to make a change and overcome everything that holds you back. Yeah, it’s gonna be hard. There is no easy way to transformation. If there were, everyone would be doing it.
But it is a little easier knowing you aren’t alone. There are others out there just like you trying to get by, trying to make it through and trying to be heard. There are others out there like you trying to follow their dreams, trying to succeed and trying to live life to its fullest. There are others out there like you who are scared shitless and have no idea what they’re doing.
I’m one of them.
This community is here to offer support in your journey toward something different.
All we have to do is give. Give support. Give love. Give advice. Give.
And don’t forget to receive! Receive support. Receive love. Receive advice. Receive.
