One of the first podcast episodes I recorded was the one I’m publishing today with Liz and there was a reason I talked to her. As I listened to the conversation, I was reminded why I really like what she’s doing. Liz is incredibly spiritual without appearing to be that way at all. She doesn’t talk about spirituality, she just lives in a spiritual way that integrates into the modern world almost seamlessly. You’d never know she was a guru in disguise. But that’s what it looks like when you walk your talk.
Liz is a really inspiring person considering all she’s been through in her life. She grew up in a rough neighborhood and from there overcame every obstacle put in her way, often in very non-traditional ways. She’s beaten the stereotypes, overcome what many of us would consider immense challenges, and defied all odds time and again.
Would you apply to the University of Miami engineering school having dropped out of high school at age 16?
Today’s conversation is all about finding alternative ways to overcome the obstacles in front of you, no matter what they might be. It’s about making it through tough situations by constantly asking questions, getting really clear on your values, and prioritizing your life and daily decisions based on those values. It’s about failure. It’s about joy. It’s about the human life experience in the modern working world.
